Palmieri, Tyler is one of the largest Southern California law firms to
have its own estate planning and administration department. As Orange
County evolved from a farming community to a business and residential
community, the estate planning and administration department has continually
assisted Orange County property owners with their estate planning affairs.
The department's attorneys and paralegals serve more than 4,000 active
clients.
The department has counseled clients with diverse property holdings and
unique situations. The department is equipped to provide clients with
assistance in planning the effective and efficient transfer of their property
and in preparing documents, such as wills and trusts, to effectuate the
estate plan. In addition, the department attorneys are skilled in overseeing
the implementation of estate plans through trust organization and administration,
probate administration, and trust and probate litigation. The planning
provided to clients includes sophisticated techniques, including charitable
remainder trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, personal residence
trusts, grantor retained annuity and/or income trusts, and the creation
of private family foundations. Oftentimes the department is called upon
to assist with business succession planning for family owned companies
and holdings. Further, the department provides post-mortem support by
preparing federal and state estate tax returns and assisting clients through
Internal Revenue Service audits related thereto.
Business and real estate issues often arise in the estate planning context.
As a result, the attorneys in the estate planning and administration department
have extensive experience in handling corporate and property matters.
In addition, the department can call upon the firm's corporate, real estate,
and litigation departments for their expertise. The ability to combine
the knowledge and experience of our various departments in this manner
substantially benefits all of our clients.
